when we arrived to this ocean of children the reception we received will be forever ethched in my memory.
There is a lot of hard work going on over there and the sincereity of the teachers and head master was amazing.
There a lot more needed however. Most kids did not have shoes and we did not have enough uniforms for all.
I feel we need to still host a fundraising night this year as the reality of the situation merits it:
These children are so special but so poor, basic items like clothing and shoes and amenities that we take for granted are non-existent.
Keep up the great work and I look forward to more progress in 2009!
Thanks for the experience.
Dear paddy. Thank you to you and Kavitha for giving up your time to go and distribute uniforms on our behalf. We do appreciate it. We rely on volunteers like you to monitor our projects and to give us feedback how we can run this successfully. We are encouraging our supporters to hold small fundraisings.. There is more to be done of course as you saw with your own eyes. Shoes are next on our list. So we should be able to do that this year. We can still do a fundraising night or day but we don't want to have our usual cocktail/fashion evening. If you have an idea of what we can do let us know. Thank you again for helping us out.
